Cookies may be useful if you visit the same web site on a regular basis, but some of them, especially tracking cookies, may compromise your privacy. A disk cleaner will erase all cookies on your hard drive, including the ones which you actually need. Cookie Editor gives you full control over cookies which are created by certain web browsers. You may edit their values, copy or delete them and more.

Cookie Editor's setup package is roughly one Mb large. Installing the software is an easy and straightforward task, which takes less than a minute to complete. It works on all popular Windows versions and it supports the Internet Explorer, Netscape and Mozilla Firefox web browsers.

All browser cookies are listed on the software's interface, along with numerous details, including names, values, domains, creation and expiration dates, if they are secure or not and more. All entries are filtered automatically, to show cookies separately, depending on the browser that created them. It is possible to switch from Internet Explorer cookies to Mozilla Firefox cookies, by clicking different buttons, on the software's toolbar.

You can select any listed cookie and use different options, located on the toolbar, to edit their values or delete them. The software lets you create new cookies as well. Besides a cookie's value, you can change its name, expiration date and tick separate options to set the cookie to HTTP only or to make it secure. The software includes a search function as well. You can use it to look for specific items in file or cookie names, cookie values or in URLs and you can set the search to case sensitive. A separate search function will scan for cookies, in a folder of your choosing. It is also possible to filter your cookies and save a selection as a file, in .txt, .xls or .html format.

Pros

Cookies can be edited, copied, blocked or deleted and you may create new ones as well. The software provides effective search functions and it lets you save the cookies list or a selection in different formats.

Cons

Cookie Editor supports only Internet Explorer, Netscape and Firefox. Cookie Editor allows you to decide what cookies should stay on your hard drive and which ones should go. In addition, you can block them, edit their values and more.
